Add Content To WordPress Featured Images Meta Box

For the last week – I have been without internet! As soon as I could get back online I had a rather meaty looking issue to deal with. with one of my themes – whilst working on it I found this useful blob of code.

add_filter( 'admin_post_thumbnail_html', 'add_featured_image_instruction');
function add_featured_image_instruction( $content ) {
    return $content .= '<p>The Featured Image is an image that is chosen as the representative image for Posts or Pages. Click the link above to add or change the image for this post. </p>';
}
optimize

WP-Optimize – De-Fluff Your WordPress Database

Making sure your site it running efficiently can be a pain. But thankfully there is a whole world of plugins and scripts which aim to automate (or at least greatly help) the overall ‘house keeping’of your site.

WP Optimize is a really simple to use plugin which will eliminate any unnecessary baggage being carried in your database as well as optimize the remaining data. This should help your sites running speed (even albeit slightly – every little helps though!).

Customize ‘Enter Title Here’ Text for Custom Post Types

<?php

function change_default_title( $title ){
     $screen = get_current_screen();

     if  ( '_customposttypehere_' == $screen->post_type ) {
          $title = 'The new title';
     }

     return $title;
}

add_filter( 'enter_title_here', 'change_default_title' );
?>

This is a great little snippet which will allows you to customize the title placeholder when adding a new custom post – perfect for any plugin or theme which introduces its own post type(s).

FBackup has been my backup solution for well over a year and frankly, it has been faultless and has saved my bacon on many occasions (USB drives WILL fail, its just a matter of time!).

The software is totally free to use, for both personal and commercial use, so there is no reason not to at least give it a try.

One feature that really stands out is the automated backups it can perform based on a set schedule, so you can just set it and forget it :)
